WHAT IS THE M.A.T. MARKETING PROGRAM?
The Municipal Accommodation Tax (M.A.T.) Marketing Program provides funding to support tourism-focused projects, events, and initiatives that attract visitors to the Municipality of Red Lake and enhance the visitor experience.
This program reinvests local accommodation tax revenues directly into tourism growth, promotion, and community-driven initiatives.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Eligible applicants include:
• Not-for-profit organizations
• Registered charities
• Indigenous organizations
• Tourism operators & businesses
• Community groups
• Event organizers
If your project promotes tourism in Red Lake, you may be eligible.
WHAT EXPENSES ARE ELIGIBLE?
• Advertising (digital, print, radio, social media)
• Graphic design & marketing materials
• Website or digital content development
• Event marketing costs
• Contractor fees related to promotion
• Visitor engagement tools
WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS ARE FUNDED?
Eligible projects include:
• Event marketing & promotion
• Tourism advertising campaigns
• Visitor experience enhancements
• Seasonal or cultural tourism initiatives
• Digital marketing & content creation
• Collaborative tourism partnerships

HOW MUCH FUNDING IS AVAILABLE?
Funding amounts vary based on project scope and available M.A.T. revenues.
Applicants must submit:
• A complete project budget
• Eligible expenses only
• Identification of other funding sources
HOW TO APPLY
1. Review the Applicant Guidance Document
2. Complete the M.A.T. Funding Application Form
3. Submit all required documents
4. Applications are reviewed by CCDC using a standardized scoring process
5. Approved applicants receive funding and reporting instructions
